My Babies Are All Grown Up

Today was the first day of preschool. Skyler & Spencer went in the afternoon, but we are switching to morning because there are less kids in the morning. School didn’t start until 12:30, but Skyler & Spencer had their backpacks on by 11am. They would have had them on earlier, but I didn’t buy the backpacks until this morning. It was so cute. They hardly ate lunch (1) because they were so excited and (2) cause it’s hard to sit at the table with a backpack on.
When we got to school they remembered exactly where their cubby was. They hung up their backpacks and went off to color. They barely even said good-bye to me. They just wanted to play with all the cool toys and meet all of their new friends.
When I picked them up they barely took a breath telling me everything they did at school. They played, the met some new friends, they sang songs and they got a snack. So far they love school!
I have mixed emotions. I’m so happy they get to meet new friends, play games, sing songs, oh yeah, and learn some new skills. But I’m also sad because it seems like just yesterday they were babies. My babies are all grown up. They’ll be five next month. I just can’t believe how time has flown by.
