More Smoking Conversations
Spencer is obsessed with people and smoking. He will probably grow up to be an activist or something. Maybe he can help JEL with their ad campaigns.
So anway, somebody on television said “damn.” And this sparked a whole conversation on words we can and cannot say.
SPENCER: Can I say darn?
ME: Yes you can.
SPENCER: But I can’t say….[long pause]…[whispering] hell. God lives in hell.
ME: No, God is in heaven. The devil lives in hell.
SPENCER: Oh, yeah. That’s right. Mark is going to heaven pretty soon.
ME: Who’s Mark?
SPENCER: That guy over there. The guy who lives by us.
ME: Oh, the neighbor.
SPENCER: Yeah.
ME: Why is he going to heaven?
SPENCER: Because he smokes.
They push that smoking thing in school. Kaitlyn told me one day that Mr. Werner (gym teacher) told there class how smoking was bad for your body. She wanted to know why nana and papa smoke then. Cuz they are going to die. I told her to ask them.
