The Worstest Day Ever

Spencer had a little problem at school yesterday. He got in trouble. Apparently he was playing with the blocks. And this boy Max came over and took one of the blocks. So Spencer yelled at him.

I said, “What did you yell at him?” And Spencer said, “because he took my block.”

I said, “No, what did you say?” And he goes, “I said, don’t take my block Max.”

So I asked him what his punishment was and he said he had to sit at the table with his head down.

I asked if Max had to do the same and he said yes.

“So next time you won’t yell right?” I asked. And Spencer said, “No. I won’t yell.”

I told him it was ok and tried to change the subject.

But Spencer wasn’t done yet.

“Mom, can you call Ms. Howe and tell her I’m not coming to school tomorrow?”

“No. You have to go to school.”

“But I don’t want to. Today was the worstest day ever.” And he started to cry.

He’s so sensitive. He’s going to be such a good husband and daddy some day. Way, way in the future.

So I told him, “tomorrow will be a better day and you will have lots of fun.”

And you know what? He had lots of fun today. And he had gym and music. And he got to do pull ups. And play basketball. He’s totally forgotten about his “worstest day ever” now.
