My Mother’s Day gifts

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers!

My day has been very exciting so far.

We started the day by going to church. On the way there Skyler was telling me the rules of the road. “No speeding and no driving on people’s lawns unless they are having a party and then you can drive up to the garage.” Umm…ok. Good to know.

Caleb made a Mother’s Day present for me at church. It is so awesome. It’s “flowers” in a flower pot. The flowers are made out of construction paper. They traced his hands, cut them out and then curled his “fingers” for the petals. It’s so pretty. I put it up on the very top of my desk so I enjoy it all year long.

After church I opened some more gifts; some sour patch candy from my husband and two plants from Skyler & Spencer. Skyler & Spencer made their pots and planted the plants at school. They’ve been so excited to show me their presents. We found a very special spot up by the kitchen window for my plants. That way I can see them every day. [Plus they are close to the kitchen sink so we remember to water them.]

Then we went to brunch. The food was….umm…so so, but the company was great. We met up with my mom and Grandma plus Aunt Candy, Uncle John, Aunt Lisa and my cousins, April, Jack and Ben. Before we ate we exchanged cards and Candy got all of us mothers a gift card.

After we ate Keaton gave me his gift. It was Mall Tycoon. I love those Tycoon games. I already have Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon. Now I can enjoy Mall Tycoon.

After brunch Keaton and Justis went with my mom and Grandma and Lee and I took the other three kids to the pet store.

This is where I got my final present[s]; three new fish. And I got to pick them out by myself. I think our tank has gotten very gray with all the Black Convicts and Tiger Barbs we have. So I decided to add a little color.

All three fish are cichlids. The bright yellow one is a Kenyi. Skyler named it Jayna. The big orange one is a Blood Parrot. He is so pretty. Skyler named him Orangy [which Lee has now changed to OJ]. The kind of pale yellow one is a parrot cichlid. It’s eyes look like she had mascara on so I’m calling her a girl. I’ve named her Chloe.
