Thursday Thirteen #5: Keaton’s Trip to Colorado

Banner courtesy of Yellow Roses Graden.
Keaton left for Colorado on Saturday night. He is there for church camp learning about God while enjoy the Colorado scenery. And I haven’t stopped talking about this and stressing over this since.
1. Virgin Mobile does not have very good cell phone coverage.
2. Including no service whatsoever in the Colorado mountains.
3. Because of this, we will be closing Keaton and Justis’ pay-as-you-go plans with Virgin Mobile and adding them to our US Cellular plan.
4. Boys are not very good about calling their mothers while they are traveling.
5. Mothers are wrecks when their sons aren’t very good about calling.
6. Especially when they know their son went white water rafting on Tuesday and has not called to tell their mother they survived.
7. Particularly when the church leader told the mother [prior to the trip] that because of all the rainfall this year the water is high and fast this year.
8. And he said that like it’s a good thing.
9. Apparently when the water is high and fast that means they won’t have as many rocks to run in to.
10. ROCKS TO RUN IN TO!
11. I can’t tell you how comforting that makes me feel.
12. The days go A LOT slower when you child is many, many miles away.
13. And has no working cell phone.

Awww what a sweet TT! I hate being freaked out like that too
Isnt it funny how sometimes we just beg for a little break but then once we get it we miss them like crazy…that’s SO ME!
I would switch cell carriers too. That worrying never really stops. My oldest has been married almost 2 yrs and still I worry. I’m keeping you and your sons in my prayers.
My list is up. Try to have a wonderful day. Take-Care…
hahaha! Don’t worry mama, your boy is safe, I’m sure! Bloody phone company thou! *comforting hug*
Well, my TT is up too
Hugs!!!
loved church camp for our kids! And the boys were not good about calling me either!
What did we ever do without cell phones? I guess that we just worry a lot and trust that God will take care of them. I’m sure he’s having a lot of fun.
no news is good news. stop worrying
(like any mom can do that)
awwww that’s terrible news!! I will be worried as well if i were you, but then perhaps imagining that we’re still living in ice age period might help? dont think so hehehe worth a try anyway.
Happy TT, mine is up.
Well poo, we have the same Virgin Mobile pay as you go and we’ll be making a trip to the Colorado mountains soon. That’s disappointing to hear they don’t have service there.
White water rafting - I would be in the same boat, er raft, as you on the worry issue. I’m sure he’s having a blast and will return home safely. Try not to worry.
OMG! You post was hilarious….and scary!
And you are right…boys don’t call as much. They figure as long as they’re all right, that we KNOW they are all right. (and there’s a little bit of truth to that…mother’s intuition and all that, ya know! LOL)
Yeah…kinda scary about the Rafting. Said to you as only a MAN would say! Lordy
Nice to meet ya!
Oh no, no cell phone coverage
He must be as upset about that as you are! Hope he has a great time, you have some peace of mind while he’s gone and he comes home soon, safe and sound!
Have a great day, I played too…
I don’t think I could ever go white water rafting!
christine, i’ve never been to Colorado but I would love to climb the Colorado mountains. I also haven’t tried white water rafting..=)
great list you have here. thanks for visiting mine. =)
Colorado? How wonderful! I’m sure your son is safe and probably having the time of his life
He’ll be back before you know it, hopefully with lots of great stories to tell.
Poor Mom! My daughter is 1300 miles away from me visiting friends and has a working cell phone, but she doesn’t call every day. I don’t worry as much because she’s not in the “wilderness,” but I will feel better when she is home!
My TT is up.
OMGosh! How scary! I would be a nervous wreck too!
Thanks for stopping by yesterday.
Virgin Mobile and church camps…that made me laugh!!! Don’t ask me while, i’m a moron! I’m sure your son is having a great time, tho
Thanks for the birthday wishes and for visiting me yesterday
You WILL survive this, I just know it!
