Having a blonde moment

I got a new computer the other day. It has the usual monitor, CPU, keyboard…you know, computer stuff. It also came with some very nice speakers and a subwoofer. A subwoofer? For a computer. The things they come up with these days.

So anway, I was hooking up the speakers today and I couldn’t get them to work. The cord had a green end on it so I plugged it in to the green spot in the back of my computer. I plugged the other end in to the subwoofer. And I plugged the whole thing in to the wall. But it just wouldn’t work.

I could hear it. Faintly. But even turning up the volume full blast didn’t make a difference.

I knew the speakers worked because Lee had them hooked up to his computer last night and they sounded great.

I finally got so frustrated I called Lee at softball. He had me look at a few things on my computer. Everything looked fine.

He had me walk him through how I hooked it up the computer. It sounded like I did it right.

Then he goes, “You don’t have your headphones plugged in do you?”

“Umm…no. Ok, well I gotta go.”

So needless to say, my speakers work just fine. Oh, and my headphones work too. ;)

  1. LOL. That totally sounds like something I would have done. I’ve agonized about electronic items not working only to find that they haven’t been plugged in. And other such things.

Thank you so much for the visit and the reassuring words. I still believe that I can do school and being a wife and mother, just kind of feels overwhelming sometimes, ya know?

    Have a nice Saturday!
