Calling in sick to work blog
So I’m starting to feel better, but still battling this cold. Yesterday, I even removed my rear end from the couch long enough to do three loads of laundry. However, my jeans were at the bottom of Mount Laundrymore so I almost had to come to work in a pair of track pants today. Of course, the big wigs frown on track pants. Luckily I found an old pair of jeans in my dresser. The dresser that is still in the middle of my living room because we have yet to paint our bedroom and put in the new carpet.
Wow, I digress.
So I have bright yellow snot [aren't you glad you tuned in today to read all about this ;)] and I couldn’t remember if bright yellow snot is the color that requires antibiotics or not. So I asked my friend WebMD. I got all doctorly and searched for “yellow nasal discharge” and stumbled upon Sinusitis and Allergies. I have self diagnosed myself with sinusitis because that’s what I always have. Pretty much non-stop since 2003 when I got a bad cold and then lost my sense of smell. Do you know how much food sucks when you can’t smell?
So anyway, then I had surgery to remove a buttload of polyps from my nose and I could smell again. Only my love for peanut butter and pringles ended. I miss peanut butter and pringles. My old friends.
Umm…digressing again.
I know I don’t have allergies. Trust me on this one. The allergy testing lady [what do they call those people? Allergy doctors?] poked me all over my back. Every millimeter of space she could find. And when she ran out of room on my back, she went down my right arm. Cause gosh darnnit, she was determined to find some sort of allergy. But there was none.
So sinusitis it is.
And what do I do to get over this case of sinusitis? Well, I guess I could take that Flonase my ENT prescribed, but I totally forgot about. I found it in my drawer yesterday as I was searching for a glue stick for the kids. I mean my doctor did go to all that effort to give me tons of free samples so I didn’t have to be raped by fork over a bunch of money to the pharmacy. So I snorted some Flonase this morning.
My friend, WebMD, told me to drink lots of water to thin out my mucus. So I’m doing that today as well.
And as I continued on in the article on WebMD, it said, “In rare circumstances, untreated sinusitis can lead to meningitis or brain abscess and infection of the bone.” Oh great. now I’m probably going to get meningitis or a brain abscess. But on the bright side, will that get me out of work for a few days? Cause I’m tired and I could use a few days in bed.

Yes, water is probably one of the best things you can drink. It will flush out toxins from your system. At least, that’s what I heard. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Be very glad you do not suffer frmo allergies. They suck. Oh and I hope you feel better soon.
Feel better soon. You ever tried that eucalyptus bath soap from Baby Magic? I forget what it’s called exactly but it’s in the baby bath products section. It’s designed to be kind of like Vicks Vaporub and clear the nose while the baby soaks. I love it for me, when I’m sick and up to a bath, I’ll take a long soak with the fumes around and it does help.
Don’t let Necole read this…she’s gonna tell you that you FOR SURE are going to have a brain abcess if this goes untreated.
I’m tellin ya…Zicam baby…it’s DA BOMB!
