Death of a Snowman

Last Monday there was a two hour delay for school because the temperature was 35 below [with wind chill]. I was getting ready to go to work and Lee said, “You’re going to work today?” And I said, “Yes, why wouldn’t I.” Lee said, “I thought you’d work from home today because it’s really cold out and you a wimp.”

So today when the kids went out to play in the snow, guess who didn’t join them. Yeah, me. I stayed inside and watched from kitchen window. Because that’s how I roll. [Hi, Necole!]

Today’s play was more of a man’s show anyway. Today they went commando on the poor innocent snowman in the yard. [No more Call of Duty for these kids.]

They tore of his gloves and ripped out his arms [which were metal rods]. Then they used his own arms to knock off his head.

That was just cold, man. Look at Keaton mourning over the lost snowman.

But Spencer and Caleb are quite pleased with their work. Look at those smiles.

Lee got this brilliant idea to use the now sad head on the half built fort. This fort has been through a lot. First it never got finished. Then Justis used it for shooting practice with his paintball gun. And now it has a head stuck to it. I like to call it Fort Head.

That didn’t last long though. Lee used the head for batting practice and now it’s laying in the snow. And Spencer took care of the rest of the body making sure he got some good stabs and kicks in.

I hope they’ve run out all of the testosterone. Cause just watching them wore me out.

UM . . . I can TOTALLY see this happening at my house (and me standing at the window, watching from a toasty house because, yes, I AM a wimp when it comes to cold weather!).

Hey – I like the new look! And yes, you are DEFINITELY staying on my list!!
