Yesterday I went to Target over my lunch break to finish up my Christmas shopping for Justis and get a few essentials (like toothpaste). To get to the men’s wallets I had to pass by the woman’s clothing in the front of the store. I can’t remember the last time I bought myself clothes [unless you count the jeans I got from ebay last year], but I glanced over in the clothing direction just because it’s in a woman’s genes to check out the latest fashions as you pass by.

And what did I see? BATHING SUITS! WTF? It was three degrees last night. THREE! It was fifteen below with the wind chill. Who can think about bathing suits when you can leave smoke signals with your breath? And we haven’t even hit the worst of our Midwest winter yet. It’s January 3rd for crying out loud. We’ll hit the negative temps without wind chill later this month and in to February. It won’t be warm enough for the pool for at least another six months.

Plus us gals just packed on a good twenty pounds last week with all the turkey and soup and pie and cookies. Who wants to see their body in a bathing suit right now? At least give us a month in to our “I will exercise every day” resolution before you start depleting our self esteem with skimpy bikinis and high cut one pieces right as you enter the store.

Geez Target. What are you thinking? First Christmas decorations were out before Halloween. And now bikinis during the cold spell. You are starting to slip from the number one spot on the places I like to shop.

In other news, JUSTIS IS HOME! And to celebrate here’s a picture of the kids I just took minutes ago. Don’t you like how we let them eat candy canes right before supper. We so rock at this parenting thing.

Obviously the kids are happy to have their brother home. We watched him open the Christmas gifts that have been waiting patiently for him under the tree. He seemed pretty happy with his stash; especially with his Halo III game.

And as you can see, Skyler’s hair is still growing out from her personal styling session. I’m waiting for the short spot to grow a little bit longer and then we’re going to give her bangs. She hasn’t had bangs in years. If that what she was after all she had to do was ask.
