He is definitely stepping up, because if he didn't really care about them, he wouldn't try for custody...it tends to put a big cramp in your partying lifestyle...so he must mean it! I hope those little boys grow up knowing that they have people who care about them, and aren't just exploited-it seems like that's important to kfed too. I have to say, Madonna's kids are lucky, because she wouldn't ever let them be plastered all over the media, and even now that they're older, you only see them once in awhile. He may not be perfect, but from where I stand, he's doing a damned fine job of being a dad right now, which is something their kids desperately need. Poor Britney, something has gone SERIOUSLY wrong in her life and until she gets it straightened out, she's not in a position to be any kind of mother at all. It's the same situation in the reverse with my ex. He has totally gone over the edge, and until he gets his collective s**t together, he's not in any position to be any kind of dad at all. Hopefully she does finally get the help she needs.
