As many of you know, Keaton is a class clown. He keeps everybody in stitches with his humor and antics. Luckily he is also smart and a good student so I don’t worry about it too much.

While Keaton was in Washington D.C. on his eighth grade American history field trip, all the kids got together in front of the Capitol to take a picture. Most of the kids looked straight forward at the camera with their best smiles. Some did the unoriginal thing of sticking out their tongue. But not Keaton. Instead, Keaton threw on his best scholarly look.

Keaton in Washington D.C.

While Keaton was in D.C. he sent us a postcard. On the front is a picture of the Capitol. On the back he wrote:

Dear Mother and Father, I have had tons of fun in Washington D.C. and I was educated in the ways of American History. The Abe Lincoln memorial was great! -love, Keaton [last name]

Good thing he put his last name on the postcard or we never would have known who it was from. And he can be such a smart ass. Mother and Father? Educated in the ways of…? What thirteen-year-old talks like that?

He is such a dork. But he’s my dork and I love him.

[Love Thursday]

Awesome Keaton!! He must have gotten it from me — I used to (okay … sometimes still do) speak that way. :-)

I was trying to find Brendon in that picture and realized he is behind the flash of you taking a picture of the picture (HA). When I got Brendon’s postcard he said, “yeah they made us do those the last night”. I said, “thanks for the “made us” part – that kinda killed the sentiment a little! HA. Like I didn’t already know they were forced to throw the parents a bone. Brendon did text me a couple great pics of the White House and the Nat’l Cathedral. My heart was totally a flutter that he thought of his mom while on his trip.

    Lori’s last blog post..Sanity with a 3 year old…
