Sunday Linky Love

Baby pictures are so cute. I just want to squeeze their wittle cheeks and play with their wittle toes. Miss Zoot gives us loads of precious baby pics. And Fussy shows us some fabulous pics of her new baby boy.

Speaking of babies, Girl’s Gone Child is having a girl. Congrats Rebecca!

First mortgage rates go up. Then we get stuck with outrageous gas prices. And now they’re screwing us with ice cream. What has the world come to?

Yes, I have the mind of a fourteen-year-old because geeks explaining sex makes me giggle.

Aileen took a big step and embraced her gray. I think it looks fantastic.

I cracked up reading this restraining order from one sister to another. She really is a future lawyer. Too funny.

I need to start leaving a note like this for my Schwan man. I’m sure he’s tired of seeing my stinky, no showered self every other Thursday.

Lani wants to know…what’s the worst ringtone you’ve ever heard? Lee used to have this ringtone that was Golem from Lord of the Rings saying, “Ring. Ring, ring. Ring, Ring.” It was so damn annoying. I always have my phone on vibrate, but I admit I wear my bluetooth headset like I’m Jeri Ryan sometimes.

Explaining where babies come from to a five-year-old is always so much fun.

We all have our embarrassing stories from high school, but this one has to top the cake. Hilarious!

Speaking of embarrassing moments, thank goodness for cell phones. I think another important lesson here is to remember to check for toilet paper before you sit down.

Did you miss the National Spelling Bee? Well Cynical Dad and Motherbumper liveblogged it for you viewing pleasure.

Swistle explains why she doesn’t like Wal-Mart. I no longer shop at Wal-Mart. I just can’t take it anymore.

Now that summer vacation is upon us (or almost), Char has come up with a great list of things for tweens and teens to do to stay busy this summer.

I’ve commented several times on this here blog about the stupid weathermen on TV who break in to television programs for non-stop coverage of pending tornadoes. Well last week a tornado actually did ouch down in Iowa and left devastation in its path. Dorothy’s husband wrote a great post about the tragedy. Go read it.

A kindergarten teacher had her student vote an autistic child out of the classroom ala Survivor-style. Discuss.

Karla is looking for ideas to entertain four kids on a 10 hour road trip. Any ideas? Of course my first thought would be alcohol, but you can’t drink and drive darnit.

Francie turned her kids’ classmates in to cupcakes. That’s amazing. I love it.

No need to go to the mall. You can make your own pretzels at home. Yum!

Thanks for the link! I’m away from home and don’t have my handy favorites to access so I can’t really read many blogs unless they comment on mine:)

Hopefully my post taught you a good lesson…. just make sure you don’t drop your phone in the toilet, cuz that would suck.

Thanks for the linky love! I was torn between someone reading it and no one reading it. Thankfully, it is funny now so I’m only too happy to share the embarrassment!

  3. Christine's Mom Says:

Wow! Love the links you find. The story of the autistic boy being humiliated and voted out of class, though, is appalling! I can understand that there was frustration due to his behavior problems. And, in general, I think that people should have to face the consequences of their actions. But a 5 year old doesn’t understand this kind of punishment!! Certainly a discussion about why his behavior bothers others might help – it could help him learn empathy. But, to highlight his behavior alone (I am sure that he is not the only kid in the class who misbehaves) and then to hold a vote – its disgusting. No 5 year old learns anything valuable from that kind of lesson.

I have to write about this soon, but yesterday my youngest boy came to me with a puzzled expression on his face and said MOM! My pee pee is straight!
