A day of makeovers
There were a lot of big changes at our house today.
First the backyard got a makeover.
This morning my backyard looked like this:

Then this big bobcat entered the yard.

And now my backyard looks like this:

We live on a hill. Actually we live on the side of a hill. Our yard is so bumpy I practically break an ankle every time I step outside. We’ve been wanting to level our backyard for years. The last two years we’ve put our pool in the front yard because there was no even semi-level place in the backyard. It’s kind of embarrassing flashing the neighborhood and every passer-byer from the pool in the front yard. I’m pretty sure the neighbors are sick of looking at my saggy ass and droopy boobies.
Lee talked to his friend about coming over to level our yard a long time ago. In fact I think he first talked to him last year. He kept meaning to come over, but he’s a busy guy. With lots of excuses.
Yesterday I answered Lee’s phone when Roger called. I said, “When are you coming over to level my yard?”
He said, “I’ve been thinking about that.”
“Well stop thinking and start doing.”
And then this morning he showed up with the Bobcat and his dump truck. Because when I say jump, you jump damnit.
The weatherman on the news just said there is a 60% chance of rain tomorrow. Of course there is. There is always a big storm the day after you dig up and level your backyard. How else would you get a huge puddle of mud? Maybe I should wash the car to up that to 100% chance. On the bright side Lee might actually get his mud wrestling tournament after all.
But the yard wasn’t the only thing that got a makeover.
You may remember my long hair. It goes halfway down my back. Almost to my elbows.
Well at least it used to.

I gave eleven inches of hair to Locks of Love…again. Last time was in 2003 (I think). I had closer to 14 inches back then. But I went really short. I’d show you a picture, but I’m way to lazy to search for one. This time we just went with a little bob…as you can see.
And now I won’t have my hair in my eyes while mud wrestling tomorrow.

Your hair still looks very “Charlotte-y”!
Oh and I’m sure Lee can fill the back yard with the Man Cave patrons for Mud Fest 2008!

I love your hair! It looks great, very young and stylish.
And I totally feel your pain about the bumpy yard; mine is awful too. I think it’s the combination of Iowa clay, and crummy post-construction grading, even with older homes. And yup, looks like it’s gonna rain!
