Lots of ovulating at girl’s night out
The girls and I had a little girl’s night out adventure on Saturday night. It was Lori’s birthday so some dinner and drinks were in order. There’s nothing like a night with your girlfriends to remind you how lucky you are to have such good friends. And there’s nothing like partying with your friends to make you spend a full six hours laughing your butt off.
We were getting ready to leave the first bar when Lori announced we needed to have somebody take our picture. We scanned the bar to see what poor soul we could snag to be our photographer. I saw a guy looking at us from across the room and waved him over.
Being married for 11 years I have completely forgotten how a guy’s brain thinks. I thought I was just innocently waving a guy over to take a photo of the group. He thought I was waving him over to hook up. And as soon as he saw my wedding ring he turned in to a total jerk.
I tried to get him to tell us his name, but he refused like a three-year-old child. So I asked his friend Matt to tell me. Matt said, “Jimmy.”
It was loud in the bar and I couldn’t quite hear him. I asked, “Timmie? As in Timmie’s in the well Lassie?”
Matt said, “No, Jimmy. Like condom.”
My friend Camy apparently has my same hearing problem and said, “What does Jimmy have to do with a condo?”
So the rest of the night Jimmy was referred to as “Jimmy Condo.”
As we were preparing to leave, Matt asked my friend Misti, “Are you leaving?”
She too has this hearing problem. It must be contagious. She thought he asked, “Are you ovulating?”
We busted up about that one all night long. What kind of pick up line is, “Hey baby. Are you ovulating?” You know from this point forward every time I see Misti I’m going to ask, “Are you ovulating?”
And this, my friends, is how inside jokes are born.

Umm…here was I when all of this was going on?! Was I THAT distracted by the hook up that never was?

That was a hilarious story. Sounds like something that would happen to my crew, too.
