The old ladies are turning 35
Feb 20, 2009 A day in our life
I have a close-knit group of friends that have stayed together since high school (which has been, you know, a couple years). Five years ago we all celebrated our 30th birthdays in style. A big drunken party for each of us.
One party involved us traveling out of town to spend the night at our one friend’s house. Four of us girls (and our husbands) made the road trip. We slept on the floor like teenagers. And woke up the next morning hung over with back aches like old ladies. That’s when we knew. This turning 30 bullshit sucks.
Another party involved a stripper that the birthday girl missed because she was already passed out before he got there. At 10pm. In fact she was horizontal by 8:30. After throwing up cheese dip all over another friends house. Good times.
Each party involved copious amounts of alcohol and maybe even a little mac ‘n cheese. Who doesn’t enjoy a little mac ‘n cheese after a night of drinking?
Well here we are five years later, ready to do it all over again.
Last weekend my best friend, the oldest of the group (you know I had to get that “she’s much older than me” dig in), turned 35…or as she likes to say, is having the 7th anniversary of her 28th birthday (because nobody believes you’re really 29). So tonight we’re celebrating. This time we’re having the party at her house because nobody else wants to try to get cheese dip out of their carpet.
Needless to say, I’m bringing my camera. This should be fun.

Hope you have fun tonight and don’t get too drunk!!!!! Remember you have what 5 kids to go home too!!! I wish I lived closer to you so we could do some of these things together!! I would have an actual social life if we lived closer together!! You are and will always be my best friend!!!
