How was you’re Mother’s Day?
I had a fabulous Mother’s Day! After church the kids [minus Keaton who was at a soccer game] and I met my grandma, my mom, my cousin, my aunt and her fiancee for brunch. When Keaton was done with his game, he and Lee joined us. The food was delicious. I’m pretty sure I left the restaurant at least twenty pounds heavier.
This was the first year that Justis initiated my Mother’s Day gift. In past years Lee has always bought my card and gift. This year Justis worked with his younger siblings to pick out a wonderful card for me. It was a great surprise. It’s nice when Lee does it for the kids, but it’s totally awesome when the kids do it on their own.
After brunch, my grandma, my mom, Justis, Keaton and I went to see The Full Monty at the community theatre. It was fantastic. I think the boys were a little scared when the show started out with a stripper getting all the way down to his g-string. And they were a little shy when they watched the final scene, when the working men got down to their, ummm….well you’ll just have to see that part yourself. Keaton and Justis watched that whole scene with their hands in front of their eyes. But they liked the show. They said they thought it was pretty funny.
We ended the night with my whole family eating dinner at Applebees with my mom and my grandma. Halfway through the meal Skyler said she had to go to the bathroom. We were sitting right next to them so I let her go by herself. Caleb looked at me and said, “Do you want me to go with her?” I usually send one of the older boys with the littler kids when they go off to the bathroom so they don’t get lost. I guess now that Caleb’s five he considers himself one of the older boys.
He’s so darn cute.
Hope your Mother’s Day was just as enjoyable. Happy Mother’s Day!
